It was inexplicable.
Everyone around me (myself included) were going mental over such a poor decision.
If it'd gone in they'd look like geniuses, but the odds of that were so low.
Should have been put right in the mixer and let Carroll Kouyate and Tomkins try to get on the end of it. That's how our first goal came about, after all.

Even if it's true that that flies in once in a hundred times, in another eighty of those hundred times it ends up in the box having been blocked with resulting goalscoring chances, or goes behind for another corner.
Just like launching the ball at Andy Carroll's head, it doesn't have to work perfectly to be worth doing.
The problem was that it was so FAR from being perfectly executed.

I don't get the hysteria about one corner. Launch it in the box and it gets headed out or keeper takes it and it is the same result - game over.
It was the performance over the other 94 minutes that cost us.
How many do we score direct from corners anyway? I wish it was the 30 out of 100 that was mentioned earlier.

The problem isn't that they tried to catch Man U out (and they clearly weren't expecting it), but that the execution was poor. Noble's got the skills to do this properly, just not every time.

'fine margin'? it would have had to have been one of the goals of the season for that to fly in. It was bordeline embarrassing, and I actually felt a little sorry for Noble as it looked ridiculous..

Payet did a pretty piss poor job or putting it on his bonce... His set pieces were poor last night.
The only time we got it in the box where Carroll is a danger we scored and he sent one fantastic header marginally over the crossbar.
With Carroll in the side we simply have to pepper the box with crosses. We managed it twice last night. With Rojo and Mensu-Fosu or whatever his fucking name is at full back that is a pretty poor outcome.
We stopped doing it against Arsenal after scoring 3 goals as well.
I'm not calling for long balls thrown up to Carroll... But pass it out wide and whip it in.

TBF Payet had tried the direct corner/frre kick to Carrolls bonce several times but Manc were ready for it.
I don't blame him for trying something different, it was just the shit way it was executed, not even on target!
